In the framework of cooperation with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), work is underway to implement the PBN (precision-based navigation) concept in the airspace of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
IATA specialists, in accordance with the implementation of measures to revise the airspace classification and introduce a single absolute altitude and transition level, conducted training for specialists from the State Unitary Enterprise "Uzaeronavigation" Centre, the CAA of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Defense from January 28 to 29, 2025. The training covered international practice of airspace classification, considered examples of the implementation of the airspace classification of foreign countries.
The positive effects achieved by establishing appropriate classes in certain areas of the airspace are revealed. At the end of the training, specialists from the joint working group of IATA and the State Unitary Enterprise "Uzaeronavigation" Centre presented a draft of the revised airspace classification of the Republic of Uzbekistan, taking into account the current tasks and requirements of the state for the development of small, private and business aviation, as well as the flexible use of airspace by all users. Upon completion of the training, participants were issued certificates of the established form.
